So, you have to send it to the default device which necessarily needs to mix (potentially) from any source that also sends to the default and cannot lock out others for exclusive access from this program.
It is that combination that precludes an easy solution. The problem is that you have a program that cannot do direct access and cannot select a specific audio device to send to. You could also try increasing the WDM buffer to 1024 and restart VM and see if you get 24 bits but it may lead to broken up sound depending on your system. If this is the problem then ASIO4ALL is the best bet.
